Oumair Aejaz, a 40-year-old Indian doctor in the US is being held on a $2-million bond after being charged with 10 counts of multiple sex crimes, including recording thousands of nude images and videos of children and women for at least the past six years.

Police discovered over 13,000 videos on a single hard drive and seized 15 external devices during their investigation

Oumair Aejaz is an internal medicine specialist who relocated to the US from India in 2011 on a work visa. Following the completion of his residency at Sinai Grace Hospital in Michigan, he made the move to Dawson, Alabama.

He came back to Oakland County in Michigan to resume practicing internal medicine in 2018.

Aejaz has previously worked at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township and Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc, Michigan. He most recently worked as a contracted physician at various hospitals.

Aejaz was arrested on August 8 for allegedly installing hidden cameras in bathrooms, changing areas, hospital rooms, and even in his own home.

Fox News reported that the cameras have reportedly captured disturbing footage of children as young as two years old and women who were either unconscious or asleep, all in varying states of undress

Authorities believe Aejaz may have also uploaded some of the illicit videos to cloud storage.

LAW ENFORCEMENT ALERTED BY AEJAZ'S WIFE

The case was brought to the attention of law enforcement when Aejaz's wife provided them with materials concerning it. This prompted the Oakland County Sheriff's Office to execute several search warrants at his Rochester Hills home in Michigan. Prior to this incident, Aejaz had no known criminal history.

On August 13, Aejaz was formally charged with one count of child sexually abusive activity, four counts of capturing images of unclothed persons, and five counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard stated that the magnitude of Aejaz's offenses is so vast that it could take months to investigate the extent of his crimes fully.

The victimization is so broad and the perversion so great, we're just beginning to wrap our arms around it

Mike Bouchard, Sherrif, Oakland Country

He compared Aejaz's criminal activities to those of Larry Nassar, the former sports doctor convicted of sexually abusing numerous young women.
