In response to the recent doctor case in Kolkata, actor John Abraham expressed his thoughts on social media, saying that he would prefer not to give ladies advice because they are not at fault. However, he had a harsh message for boys, urging parents to raise their male offspring more effectively. John also discussed his most recent movie, Vedaa, which tackles issues of violence against women, in an interview.

During his appearance on Radio City, John was asked if he had any advice for the nation's youth in light of the reported rape and killing of a doctor in Kolkata earlier in August. The event took place prior to Raksha Bandhan, a celebration honoring sibling love. John said, “I’ll tell the boys to behave, otherwise I’ll tear them apart.” John laughed, then grew serious.

He continued, “Honestly, I just expect a better upbringing, on a serious note. And I wouldn’t tell girls anything, because unki kya galti hai (what fault is it of theirs)? I think parents have to tell boys to behave. More power to the girls.”

John stated in a recent podcast interview that he believes it is his duty as a patriot to draw attention to India's shortcomings. "Women, children and animals are not safe in India. It is sad. Indian men need to understand how to treat their women. Yeh bohot important hai. Har aurat ke liye, ek aadmi ko ek rakshak hona chahiye (It’s important for Indian men to learn how to treat women. They need to be protectors),” he said.

The incident happened on August 9 at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. The matter has been turned over to the Central Bureau of Investigation following initial gaps in its handling. On Thursday, the CBI informed the Supreme Court that “our investigation itself is a challenge… because the scene of offense” has been “altered”.

Vedaa, John's most recent movie, is based on situations that are comparable and have occurred across the nation. With less than Rs 20 crore earned in its first week of release, the movie did poorly at the box office.
