In another example, an 18-year-old Keralan influencer committed suicide in June, citing cyberbullying as the reason for her breakup with her purported 18-year-old partner. According to reports, she committed suicide as a result of being called out by her ex-boyfriend's social media followers after their split. After spending a week in a private hospital, she passed away. Her ex-boyfriend, with whom she had broken up three months before her death, was then taken into custody by the police when they opened an unnatural death case. He was charged with aiding and abetting suicide under the POCSO Act after the girl's family members filed a complaint.
