Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently received media attention after The Liver Doc, Dr. Cyriac Abby Philips, publicly criticized her for spreading false information regarding nebulization with hydrogen peroxide. He blamed her errors on her ignorance of health issues and insisted that she bear some of the blame for spreading false information of this nature.
Samantha replied with an extended message in which she recognized her lack of understanding on the subject, disagreed with the doctor's word choice, and kindly asked the doctor to maintain more polite communication. "It would have been kind and compassionate of him had he not been so proactive with his words," Samantha wrote in her piece. Especially, the part when he says I ought to go to jail. Nevermind. It comes with the job, I guess, being a famous person. I didn't post as a celebrity; instead, I identified as someone in need of medical care."
In a recent, heated debate, The Liver Doc attacked the legitimacy of the two physicians Samantha had cited in her remarks, calling them "imposters" and "profit-seekers." But in the same spirit, he apologized to Samantha in his piece.
The Liver Doc avoids addressing his disagreements with Samantha's doctors, Dr. Jockers and Mitra Basu Chillar, in favor of highlighting his extensive ten-year medical career. He highlights certain instances of their behavior, highlighting those that are obviously against the regulations and some that are unacceptable.
"I understand and empathise with Samantha's health condition, and I wish her the very best," The Liver Doc said in a detailed post. I'm sorry if the way the message was delivered made her uncomfortable or made her feel bad. It was unintentional. My goal was for her to stop spreading false information about medicine and forging connections with "doctors" who take advantage of her vulnerability and anecdotal experiences to enrich themselves. To stay within a safety net and sanctuary , I genuinely ask patients with chronic illnesses to please stick to evidence-based medical treatments."
