When Bhargavi was not taken care of right away by the hospital staff, she became angry. She attacked nurse Asha, who was on duty, both physically and verbally in a fit of rage.

Following the assault, the medical staff gathered outside the hospital and demanded that the accused woman be taken immediately to justice.

In order to protect the safety and dignity of healthcare professionals, they demanded stringent measures, expressing their outrage and concern. Hospital services were severely disrupted by the protest since the nurses would not go back to work until their demands were met.

The Shadpur demonstration took place on the same day that the Centre ordered all medical facilities to report any incidents of violence against healthcare workers to the police within six hours. The Ministry of Health stated in a memo to all healthcare facilities that the institution's head is the only one authorized to file the FIR.

The directive is being issued in the midst of nationwide doctor protests calling for the enactment of laws shielding doctors from violence in the wake of the 31-year-old doctor's death at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
