The session started with Dr. Munmun Rai, MBBS (Medical Officer, MedBound) welcoming everybody and acknowledging their presence. Then, the session was taken over by Vanshika Bajaj, (Marketing Intern, MedBound) and M Subha Maheswari (Program Coordinator, MedBound) who introduced the MedBound List platform. Further, the session was handed over to Jaswanth D S, MSc Biochemistry, REVA University, Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
Jaswanth started the presentation by introducing himself and his topic, Malaria, and its symptoms. He further elaborated on topics like the mosquito transmission cycle, and various drugs used in the treatment of Malaria like Chloroquine, ACTs, Primaquine, Mefloquine, etc. He also explained the treatment process beginning from its diagnosis to its symptomatic relief. The follow-up testing, challenges in malaria treatment and its prevention were also discussed in the session.
The session was then taken over by Dr. Munmun Rai, who had a brief discussion with the interns on the topics explained during the presentation. In the end, a vote of thanks was delivered by the Program Coordinator.
