The session started with Dr. Munmun Rai, MBBS (Medical Officer, MedBound) welcoming everybody and acknowledging their presence. Then, the session was taken over by M Subha Maheswari (Program Coordinator, MedBound) who introduced the MedBound List platform. Further, the session was handed over to Abaya Kofi Mensah, Pharm D student, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.
The presentation started out with a brief introduction to Squamous Carcinoma and then a few more topics were covered in detail including Epidemiology, Risk Factors and Etiology, Nutritional factors, HPV Infection, Diagnosis, and treatment options. Later, a short question–answer session was taken by Dr. Darshit. Towards the end of the session, Dr. Darshit shared a case study of a 67-year-old patient who underwent an operation for the appendix. After the operation, he developed ulcers in his mouth, which were later identified as Squamous Carcinoma in his left buckle cavity. Even with the right treatment, the patient lost the battle of life within 3-4 months. At the end of the session, a vote of thanks was delivered by M Subha Maheswari.
