A 40-year-old orthopedic doctor murdered his wife, son, and two children before taking his own life at his residence in Gurunanak colony under Patamata police station limits on Tuesday morning. Police believe that financial problems might be the reason behind orthopedic surgeon’s drastic measures.

The dead family was recognized as Darawath Srinivas (40), his wife Usha Rani (36), two kids Sailaja (9), Srihan (6), and his mother Ramanamma (65). While Srinivas's younger sister lives in Visakhapatnam, his elder brother Durga Prasad is a judge in Hyderabad. His dad was a retired DSP.

The Event became public at 9 am when the housemaid entered the apartment and saw Srinivas's body hanging in the corridor. She quickly notified the neighbors and the Patamata police.

NTR District Commissioner of Police PHD Ramakrishna, DCP Adhiraj Singh Rana, and other officials raced to the scene to look into the event. The clues team, sniffing dog, and fingerprint experts collected proof from the house.

The police discovered Srinivas' body at the house's entryway, while the bodies of the other family members had been found inside the house in a pool of blood.

Speaking to the media, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Adhiraj Singh Rana said that the family's head, Dr Srinivas, had worked in a private hospital before starting his own. He got loans from several banks and private financiers. After the hospital faced losses and incurred massive debts, frustrated Srinivas turned over the hospital to another person to alleviate the burden.

Unable to cope with his financial issues, Srinivas took drastic measures. We assume he killed all of his family members with a knife, slicing their throats, and then committed suicide. Before the incident, Srinivas put his car keys in the opposite home post box, along with a paper with his brother's number written on it.

A complaint has been filed for suspicious death, and police found a knife and a suicide note at the scene. "Srinivas also recorded a voice note in his phone where he explained the reasons behind killing all four family members and his suicide," said a senior officer on the condition of anonymity.

It is also understood that Srinivas was requested to work in the same hospital that he had leased to another person. "Starting a hospital on his own was his aim, and he has put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into Srija Hospital. Unfortunately, it did not turn out exactly as planned. After handing over hospital maintenance to another individual and being allowed to work at the same hospital, he may have been disappointed and taken drastic measures to handle his desperation, according to the police.
