The recent revelations about a fake doctor involved in a child-selling case in Kittur, Belagavi, have become even more concerning. Fetuses were killed and buried in a garden, according to a police inquiry.
Under the supervision of DC Nitesh Patil, the Kittur police conducted a raid on Abdul Ghaffar Ladkhan’s farmhouse. Ladkhan, pretending to be a doctor, was found to be responsible for these crimes. The remains of three fetuses were discovered on the property and taken by the police for further examination.
Rohit Kuppasagoudar, who had been assisting Ladkhan for several years, has been detained and questioned by authorities. The investigation is now being handled by the Kittur police station.
The operation involved DHO Dr. Mahesh Koni, AC Prabhavathi Fakirpur, Bailhongal, DySP Ravi Naik, and three CPIs. Reports suggest that the five accused, including Ladkhan, targeted young pregnant women seeking abortions before marriage. They performed procedures on women who were 7-8 months pregnant, kept the babies, and sold them to childless couples for profit.
The police cracked up this network as the inquiry went on and took the relevant parties into custody. Furthermore, Ladkhan's involvement in the murder of fetuses in addition to his child-selling activities was exposed.
The investigative team worked diligently to expose the fake doctor's heinous activities. The already disturbing case took a darker turn with the discovery of the buried fetuses. Authorities continue to work hard to uncover more information and ensure justice for the victims.
