The Rajasthan Medical Council (RMC), following the Delhi Medical Council, has also released an advise for hospitals and nursing homes, requesting that they confirm the qualifications and degrees of doctors before hiring them.
After becoming aware of the situations in which doctors who are either underqualified or unqualified work in hospitals, nursing homes, or clinical settings inside the State, RMC released this warning.
The Council has also requested the doctors who visit these hospitals or nursing homes to make sure that their patients are receiving medical care from certified individuals, emphasizing that this is against the law and a serious offense.
"It has come to the notice of Rajasthan Medical Council that many Hospitals, Nursing Homes and clinical establishments using modern medical science (Allopathy) are employeeing Doctors who are either unqualified/ underqualified or qualified in other branches for the treatment of the patients. This is against the law and a punishable act," RMC mentioned in the notice issued on 22.07.2024.
"Therefore it is requested that all Hospital owners to please check out the credentials of the doctors working in their hospitals," RMC stated in the notice.
"Doctors visiting such hospitals/nursing homes are also requested to make sure that your patients is under care of qualified persons only, since these doctors will be held responsible for any deficiency of services to their patients," the notice stated.
Furthermore, the Medical Council has recommended that all clinical facilities, nursing homes, and hospitals verify the facilities they offer before accepting new patients. Additionally, RMC brought out the necessity for hospitals to make sure that all fire safety regulations are being followed.
"Furthermore all hospitals, nursing homes and clinical establishments are requested to check the facilities available with them and admit patients accordingly only. Please make sure all regulations required by the law including the fire safety are complied with," read the notice that Registrar Dr. Rajesh Kumar Sharma and RMC President Dr. Ravi Prakash Mathur issued.
