Difficult to imagine the antithesis? However, that's exactly what was found in a study in the journal, 'Science Advances.'
Hexadecanal or HEX is the chemical's name, and it is a smell coming off of a baby's head. Scientists believe it's a chemical defense system we inherited from our animal ancestors.
HEX makes women more likely to defend their babies and makes men less likely to harm them.
Scientists performed some tests on men, women, and animals to support this hypothesis. They will need more such tests to establish concrete evidence.
However, this proves that we're more animals than we would like to admit.
