Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital, the largest state-run hospital in Rajasthan has taken a unique initiative for cleanliness and hygiene at the facility. The hospital administration said that the SMS hospital has installed QR codes that allow people to register complaints regarding Cleanliness at the facility.

Dr. Achal Sharma, Superintendent of the hospital said that the QR codes have been pasted at several places, including corridors of the main building and the Bangar Hospital attached to it. He also said that in the last around ten days, there have been several complaints on the system that were promptly addressed.

Dr. Sharma said that the initiative was taken on the instructions of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, who saw this system in a super specialty hospital in Udaipur. A person can upload pictures by scanning QR code through a mobile. Dr. Sharma also enunciates that the complaint is sent to the supervisor and it is immediately resolved. This system is being extended and now QR codes are being installed in more places such as wards.

The uploaded picture along with the complaint will reach the hospital administration and the administration will contact the contractor for cleanliness. The contractor will immediately send a sanitation worker to the location and clean the place, whether it is a ward, corridor, waiting area, washroom, or any other place in the hospital. After completion of cleaning, the contractor uploads the picture of the cleaned area and notifies the hospital administration that the complaint has been resolved.
