The first incident involved Maloth Anil, a 23-year-old resident of Telangana, who suffered fatal injuries while sleeping. According to India Today, Anil had extended a live wire near his bed to charge his mobile phone. After plugging in his phone, he drifted off to sleep, unaware of the lurking danger beside him. During the night, he accidentally touched the live wire and received a severe electric shock. His family rushed him to a nearby private hospital before he was transferred to a government facility, but despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries. Anil is survived by his wife and their young daughter, who is one-and-a-half years old. A similar tragedy occurred in western Bengaluru, where 24-year-old Srinivas from Bidar also died due to an electric shock. Police reports indicate that Srinivas was attempting to plug in his smartphone when the incident occurred. His two roommates were present and immediately took him to a nearby hospital; however, doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. Authorities suspect that Srinivas’s hands were wet at the time, which increased his risk of electrocution. The tragedy has left his friends and family grieving, with many now urging for more awareness regarding basic electrical safety precautions.
The third incident took place in Noida, where Arjeet Singh, a 25-year-old truck driver, died when his vehicle's rear door accidentally touched a power transformer. Singh, a native of Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh, had parked outside a sweets and snacks manufacturing company in Sector 68, Noida, to unload goods. While opening the truck’s back door, it made contact with a nearby power transformer, sending a fatal electric current through Singh's body. Police officer Dhruv Bhusan Dubey, who leads the Phase 3 station, reported that Singh sustained severe burn injuries and that electricity in the vicinity was immediately disconnected.
