A video allegedly showing the Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer (DCVO) engaging in bribery has surfaced in a shocking revelation from the Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh. This has caused a major rift within the local government. At the Sadar Veterinary Hospital, a farmer seeking animal examination services was allegedly seen on video accepting an illicit payment of Rs 150 from DCVO Dr. Sumesh Gupta. Dr. Gupta is seen in the now-viral video giving the farmer a PhonePe number and promising an instant payment of Rs. 50 to finish the bribe.
The farmer, who is allegedly the one offering the money, made the video and shared it extensively. After it was circulated, the authorities reacted immediately. Dr. Anil Sharma, the Chief Veterinary Officer, acted decisively, moving Dr. Gupta from his position at the hospital to the district headquarters until additional inquiry was conducted.
After DCVO was determined to be at fault and moved from the veterinary hospital to district headquarters, the evidence presented in the viral video went viral. According to CVO Dr. Anil Sharma, a comprehensive investigation into the situation is currently underway, and appropriate measures will be implemented in response to the inquiry's findings.
This situation has brought ethical conduct in public service sectors to the forefront of government circles, drawing extensive attention and criticism.
