A shocking conspiracy unfolded in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat district, where two hospital employees have been booked for allegedly plotting to contaminate the food and beverages of Deputy Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Yashveer Singh with the sputum of a critical tuberculosis (TB) patient. The accused, identified as TB-HIV coordinator Jabbar Khan and lab technician Mushir Khan, are absconding after their plan was exposed.
According to police sources, the duo had approached a Class IV employee, Tinku, who worked as an attendant at Dr. Singh's residence, and asked him to mix the sputum samples with poisonous chemicals in the food meant for the Deputy CMO and his family. However, Tinku recorded the conversation and shared it with Dr. Singh, foiling their plan. Dr. Singh, who also oversees the district's TB program, reported the incident to the police, providing them with the audio recording as evidence.
Investigation and Action:
A departmental inquiry has been ordered by Baghpat CMO Dr. Tirath Lal.
The lab where the samples are stored has been sealed.
Proceedings for terminating the accused employees' contracts are underway.
The police have vowed to take strict action against the accused.
The hospital administration has increased security measures to prevent similar incidents.
