A UK woman gave birth to twins 22 days apart in different hospitals. The doctors were shocked by the gap between the twin babies.

According to the sources, Kayleigh Doyle from Manchester got pregnant with perfectly healthy twins in October 2020. All scans of her are normal without any complications. However, on March 15, 2021, during her 22 weeks of gestation, her water broke. She was immediately rushed to the hospital, where via natural birth she gave birth to baby Arlo. But the baby is stillborn and the doctors told her that the second baby may also not survive either.

Arlo was born 17 weeks early and he passed away due to a blood clot in the placenta. Doctors told her that the second child would be born in a few hours. However, Kayleigh contractions stopped and she was sent home to get rest.  After 22 days, baby  Astro was born via cesarean section in another hospital.

Talking to Metro Kayleigh said that after the trauma of giving birth to her first baby Arlo, she was astounded when the doctors told her that she could go home. She said that to this day she still can't find a woman in the UK who can beat 22 days. She was allotted a doctor by a different hospital and they had daily checkups between the two births. Every day that passed, he’d say he genuinely couldn't believe it. She said that when Astro arrived, she couldn't believe he had survived all that time.

Kayleigh said that she also held a funeral for Arlo two weeks after Astro came home. Astro is now a 2-year-old boy. He is suffering from being born prematurely. Astro has a hole in his heart and retinopathy which induces abnormal growth of blood vessels in the eyes.

Talking about her experiences she shared that she knows what it's like to feel in the dark about it, particularly with the gap between the babies as well as loneliness because everyone asked her where the twin one was. But she truthfully can't think of anything more rewarding and said there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Now she is volunteering in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to help others.
