A tragic incident occurred at a Nagpur hospital, causing 6 medical doctors to be guilty of medical negligence.

Faiz Mohammed Khan, a 22-year-old Medical Intern at IGGMCH (Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital) in Nagpur, Maharashtra, was critically injured in an accident on July 26th, 2024. Despite his critical condition, he did not receive immediate treatment. Instead, he was sent to the Government Hospital (GMCH) without the necessary documentation and subsequently died before reaching the medical ward.

Following this tragedy, Dr. Ravi Chavan, Dean established an investigation committee which has now concluded its inquiry and identified 2 Senior physicians, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), and three Resident Doctors to be responsible for the death of the intern.
