MBBS Interns from Jabalpur Protest on Bikes for Stipend Hike

MBBS medical students from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh took their unheard concerns to the streets on bikes to make the government authorities give them a fair play about the stipend concerns.

The young interns chanting slogans demanded an increase in stipend from a mere 13,000 rupees to 30,000 rupees. This rally held on bikes showed the need for better financial support and help from the government authorities.

The 2019 batch of medical interns have argued that the stipend provided would not cover any of the living expenses in day-to-day life. They highlighted that the rally is not just about the money but also about the recognition and respect being a crucial part of the medical system.

The medical interns express deep concern over the stagnant stipend, despite the rising MBBS course fees, stating they are the lowest-paid interns in the nation.

The medical interns being future doctors want to inform that this was just a starting phase of the rally and are preparing for a larger rally on a state-wide phase and warn that, such action would disrupt the whole state's medical activities if their concerns are left unheard.
